Elijah is a very happy little soul. He loves being close by me or David. He is both affectionate or independent depending on his mood. He continues to love reading. He's very clingy to his stuffed Panda and takes him everywhere. He loves to pretend to cook. He's always raiding the kitchen for pots, pans, bowls and spatulas. He loves going to the church nursery on Sundays and playing with their play kitchen, food and dishes. He likes being with kids a bit older than himself. He's quite gentle with others and enjoys sharing. He is very easily contented and changes quickly from a bad mood to a good mood. He likes to laugh and be silly. He likes it when we laugh with (at) him. He likes music with a good beat - Johnny Cash is a current favorite. He goes crazy for raisins and oranges. Recently, he started to play pretend. His favorite toys are plastic animals, dinosaurs and cars. Everywhere we go he points out people wearing hats, balloons and eyeglasses. He has a minor obsession with shoes. He likes to sweep the floor. He loves to draw and paint. We ruined a few shirts before discovering Crayola Color Wonder (amazing invention!). He is easily calmed when upset. He likes bugs, especially roly-polys, ladybugs, butterflies, bees and ants. He likes being outside, digging in the dirt and collecting sticks. He is eager to be helpful and likes being given small chores like throwing away his diapers, picking up toys, flushing the toilet and hanging socks on the drying rack. He plunders the pantry and fridge bringing us things he wants to eat or drink - usually cereal. He initiates singing time throughout the day by bringing me his shakers and singing, "Ah-ah-ah." He's learning to identify colors and shapes. He likes putting things in boxes and taking them out again.
