Counting down...

The bar exam is this week. This passed weekend David quit studying and spent a few days hanging out with me and Elijah. On Saturday we drove up the mountain and discovered two of the most lovely hikes in Jemez. Halfway through the longer of the two we got rained on and had to take shelter under an overhanging rock, but the showers left the day cool and misty. We sat by a little stream and had a picnic while Eli repeatedly threw his shark and squid into the water. He loves rivers, lakes, rain, the pool, bath time- There is nothing more fun for him than splashing and getting wet. Lucky for him it's monsoon season in New Mexico and rain is frequent and torrential. I was surprised to find that he isn't afraid of thunder. The mountains made every clap amplified and echoed, which made me jump, but only made him giggle. For the most part he is a very easy going, contented baby and very little seems to upset his internal equilibrium. In this he takes after his mother.

Tuesday and Wednesday David sits for his bar exam. I'm excited. He's a little tense.
Three more days and it'll all be over- for better or worse.
