The high road to Taos

This weekend we were able to explore a bit. David had three days off for the 4th of July holiday and so we drove north to Taos and visited the town and pueblo. It's was beautiful and surrounded by large green mountains. The town itself is small and has lots of fun art galleries and shops selling native american jewelry, which I loved. David wanted to visit the 1,000 year old pueblo for years so he was in his own world learning about Taos indian culture and history. Eli just wanted to dig around in the dirt, collect sticks and try to jump into the many rivers we came upon. On the way home we stayed in Los Alamos and spent some time exploring and picnicking in Jemez. It was a lovely, relaxing weekend.
