11 months

Started looking through his board books on his own.

When he's upset or doesn't like something he says, "Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na..."

The two most common things he says are, "Na dun" and "Ah dun," which we guess to mean "Not done" and "All done."

He now says mama, but he rarely uses it in reference to me.

He says, "Doddy" meaning doggy. He got to have a pet dog for a few weeks while we visited David's parents and he really loved it. Whenever he sees people walking their dogs now he screams and calls "doddy" or "da-da," which is still his universal word for just about anything.

He got his first illness- an ear infection.

He tends to be shy and started burying his face in my shoulder when people talk to him.

He is taking two naps a day.

He got his 5th tooth.

His fine motor skills seem to be developing nicely. He can pick up bits of thread with his thumb and forefinger and often carries things around pinched between his two fingers very delicately.

He can walk and does when we least expect it, but he prefers holding on to one of our hands. He is very cautious when it comes to walking. Sometimes he can walk across the room and other times he seems to struggle with a few steps. He's not quite there, but almost.

He's very interested in how things work. He loves turning, twisting and opening anything he can find.

He went on his first airplane and travel took 22 hours thanks to 8 hour layovers- never again! I almost think it was harder on me than it was on the baby. He was pretty good both ways. He slept in David's arms and we found he did a lot better coming home than going to England. There were no screaming fits, but I do not foresee us doing this very often in the future.

He helps get himself dressed by putting his arms in his sleeves.

He started hugging his stuffed animals.
