Snow Day

Today we are snowed into our apartment. Tulsa is not really equipped for snow and not having enough snow plows we couldn't move our car. After waking up we walked across the snowy street to the park and found we were the first ones there. I was so excited that we got to make the first prints in the snow. Eli didn't really respond to the cold and snow. He just tensed himself up and nervously looked around while snowflakes collected on his little eyelashes. 

When we got home David shoveled our parking lot- most the people in our small complex are young, single women- while I made some spicy black bean chili to warm us up. After a little nap we went on another short walk around the neighborhood and made snow angles. The snow was a bit too dry to make any decent snowballs or a snowman, but it felt pretty satisfactory to walk over crunchy snow anyway. When we got home we cuddled in blankets, turned on the fire and watched The Sound of Music. I forgot how exhausting it is to trudge through the snow, ha.
