Tulsa Zoo

Baby E is really into animals right now. Every morning and evening after his breakfast and dinner he throws all his books on the floor and then walks over to me, climbs in my lap grunting and whining until I pick up a book and read to him. His favorites are stories with pictures of animals in them. To foster this budding interest we decided to go to the zoo and see the animals in person. It was a perfect day with puffy white clouds, 70 degrees with a warm breeze and hardly any people. The last time we took him to the Tulsa Zoo he was only three months old and was oblivious to everything. This time it was much more fun for us to watch how excited he got seeing the monkeys, bears, goats and lizards. He enjoyed the animals that we could see up close and who were active in their cages. He didn't have much interest in grazing rhinos or giraffes.

It's days like this that make having children so wonderful. Eli's enthusiasm and curiosity, enriches and energizes our lives. I find so much contentment and joy by being able to share in his growth and learning. I couldn't ask for anything more perfect than to spend my days as a mother.

  2. Oh my gosh, his little dimples! And his little teeth!!! It really is the best part of being a mom: seeing them so happy and discovering new things.
