This month has been pretty crazy. It started off with Elijah having roseola. Then David's grandfather had a stroke so we drove up to Kansas City to visit him before he died. We came back to Tulsa for a few days to go to school. During this time Eli became a little demon while cutting his third tooth. A few days later we drove back up to Kansas for the funeral where we all came down with the mother of all colds that will not end. My son has decided that he must be in constant motion. He wont sit still ever! We set up little obstacle courses around our family room made of large tupperware, ottomans, our coffee table and a LoveSac. He wont play on the floor and spends hours walking round and round, playing with his toys while standing. When we make him sit in his highchair he bounces up and down on his bottom and flails his arms while making grotesque faces at us. Diaper changes are a wrestle and night wakings are war. He's vetoed walks in his stroller and he screams when I make him sit in a grocery cart. We still don't have any proper crawling, just a sort of worming his way around slowly and awkwardly on his stomach. He is good, however, at moving from his stomach to sitting to standing to walking (along furniture) and he can stand unassisted for a few seconds. When I take things away from him he screams and cries. He doesn't say any words yet and usually communicates by screaming, crying or grunting. He loves looking in the mirror and watching videos of himself. Some days all he wants to eat are Cheerios and cheese. And his favorite book is David Smells!
